Short term: You can get a kit like this:
http://www.thepartsbin.com/repsite/n...t~reparts.html

Long term: You need to replace the axle. Would recommend:
www.raxles.com

Would you really need to replace the entire axle though? Same thing happened to me, I was wondering this as well...

yes. unless you have the expertise to take the whole thing apart, clean, and reassemble. It's a PITA, big time. Once the boot is torn, all it takes is a couple grains of sand to get in there and start ruining the CV joint.

I say go for the short term, it's cheaper and easier! I had the same exact problem on my car, on the same front side! I bought that kind of kit like the link shows (only for the Maxima), and it worked. Only the clamp they'll ship with it will not be good enough, it won't hold it properly. I tried different aftermarket clamps and they all sucked!!! At the end had to go to a dealership and buy the proper stock clamp for $8 that the axles come with. The clamp should be wide enought and strong enough to support the boot, that's why go for the OEM one, the boot of course could be the aftermarket one.

If it's the outer boot that is ripped, you don't have to take the whole thing apart like Irish says, you can take just the boot off with the axle on the car and work around it.

if you kno how to change the boot, change the boot. wen you disassemble it, you gotta clean it anyway. just make sure it doesnt stay exposed for too long cuz if alot of particles get in it, your joint will get ruined after you change the boot. easiest way is to get a remanufactured axle and change it. other than that, go to a shop and haev it done professionally

What I meant is that once the original boot is ripped, there is a good chance that debris has already gotten in there, so you might as well just put in a new axle.....I'm not a big fan of "temporary fixes..." I'd rather just do a long-term fix the first time and not have tomess with it any more.

Im pretty shure i know how 2 do it, I helped my friend replace his axles before.

When i get a new axle its gonna be a raxle, i dont care too much for remanufactured parts, especially when there isnt that much of a price difference.
