I'd be curious to know if it has any effect, negative or positive, on engine cooling at highway speeds.

I dont think it would have any effects, unless it somehow helped push air into the lower grille to push more cool air on the radiator.

probably not much, since the lip doesn't redirect air anyplace into the engine bay. I would assume you're thinking of the lower air dams used in alot of track cars that direct more air into the front of the radiator.

That said, the Maxima actually has a very good cooling system and I don't really consider it an issue.

Looks good, but I like the one I built myself better.

I built it from scratch... Took about 40min.

I know the feeling. I built my entire car from scratch in about 3 hours. I just put Nissan badges on it for fun.

All I see is an ABS lip.

You should see my interior, it took me a single afternoon and an 18-pack to do.

It came out pretty good, but you put the wrong rims on it.. Those go on a G35....

Good, then you can make me a set... That explains why you have three sets of rims, you just make them yourself!

Nicely done irish. I had a SE-R and these were pretty popular with the Vboard crowd. Credit for matching it up to a maxima. Will this fit the same with an 02-03 bumper?

it may actually fit even better, since the 02-03 bumper is more squared on the edges.

like yayomax said, it looks like a thinner version of the lip that came on the second gens (check the sig pic on bottom right)or this pic, great idea and it looks nice on the newer max (with less air resistance as well, mine acts like a small air brake (see: dive-bomber air brake, almost as big)

I went ghetto and tried to paint it and fiberglass it. It does look better with a square flat bottom like my friends sentra:

Nice work though, I would have never thought of incorporating another car's lip onto ours. I think luda in the 4th gens used some other home depot stuff.

Nice little adaptation project. I think it looks good with the rounded 5th gen edges.

I'm not 100% sure if i like it or not..i mean, from the front and up close it looks really good, but from the side, since the 5th gen bumpers are shaped like that, it looks too tucked in...Excellent idea, and it looks much more subtle than any of the lips available for the max, so

Haha, this reminds me of the ghetto lip that 4th gens made out of rubber molding. I don't know, I'm not feeling it too much, it looks like the rubber scrappers that most cars have underneath them more than anything else.

I saw that a few weeks ago, I thought it looked pretty good on the P11. Its ok on the 5th gen due to the corners not lining up, other than that its a nice low key addition.

Irish, still running the Taurus splitter thing? I think it can see it in one of the pix. If so, you probably dont need it anymore.

That looks great, you wouldn't happen to have a P/N for that lip or any other specific info? Thanks!

I'm not sure if it's the official ford part number or not, but scroll down the screen at http://www.gefracing.com/Merchant2/m...ory_Code=MACH1

and you'll see it about 10 items down the page.
