insatlling ae side skirts on a non-ae

i recently picked up a set of ae sideskirts for my 00. theyre all painted and everything so that parts peachy. the problem im having is how they actually mount to the car, i can see where the ends have tabs that hold the skirts in from inside the wheel wells. so thats taken care of.

now the fun stuff. it appears that on the ae's theres a row of tabs drilled into the body and the skirt then snap/slides onto them. so now my question, do yall think i can just use the tabs in the wheelwells and just use double stick tape to hold them on or should i figure a way to mount the tabs. or is there another way?

sadly i noticed the skirts are suprisingly heavy id say 5-10lbs per side. would tape hold them?

anyone done this b4, if so any tips would be awesome.

thanks all!

thats what i did when i mounted the stock sides. secure them on the sides and run double sided 3m heavy duty tape. its been almost 2 years and no problems.

If possible you should rivet some points........but Heavy tape will do the job unless you use them for sidesteps....

I wouldnt trust just tape but thats just me, use some 3M tape and rivet it in a few places or use some type of fastener thats not tape

The biggest problem with using 3-M tape it not prepping the area. Make sure to clean the area with dish detergent, let dry and then use some rubbing alcohol. This will make sure all the dirt and past waxing and whatever else is gone. That is all you need to do.

3m double sided tape will hold anything. its super strong if the area is prepped correctly. i had such a pain removing my old lip that even the paint came off with the tape.
