Another Successful AE Mod

Just wanted to post some pics of the latest project. Just got done doing the AE headlight mod for a buddy's 5.5 gen. The first pics are obviously the before (with fair amount of pitting/haze on the housing.) The next pictures are the during the process and the re-assembled housing with the pitting/haze still, and the final is of the housing after cleaning. Considering working for hire. I will be more than happy to take care of anyone else's housings if your not comfortable doing it yourself. PM me with a price or further questions....enjoy:

And here is the final product, with the amber marker/blinker lens replaced with a clear lens and the housing painted as well as stripped and cleaned:

So you have to paint the 5.5 gen headlights to black them out. I know on my AE mod, all you had to do was rub the chrome crap off.

+1 me too....and yes you have to paint the housings on the 5.5's. I have the 00 housings as well and for mine all I did was rub off the chrome with some warm water on a rag. However, I must say I am kinda partial to the flat black versus the polished look of my own. If I had to redo the 00-01 headlights I would probably paint 'em flat black. Plus it would be a lot quicker, rubbing the chrome off really sucked.
