Hi Dan, you know I'm in for a set.
I told you that almost a year ago.
What I don't understand is how would it look behind SE tails since top section is red and bottom is white? Wouldn't it be better to just have LEDs the way lenses are made?

It would...but I want to go for something that has never been tried before.

I still have a set of etched boards so that I could make one set Dr.Roy style like we had talked about...you have dibs on those, still. I am going to be making those hopefully in a month or two. Your new doorlights are just about done, Hope we get 'em right this time.

Well if you are trying new things, maybe I will reconsider with my opinion
But its difficult to decide unless you see it.
What about making l3-4 circles and have bottom amber and top red? Just a thought.

Fitting them in is not going to be a problem in the least, my friend.

Just a matter of finding a color schematic that looks right.

Don't get me wrong...I could do parallel lines...I just want to make the most custom design possible.

I want to sell a few pairs to afford a Stillen kit so it looks as though I have precious little option.

Final design going up in the next few days...

As much as I hate having to put aside a funky design, I am going to run the parallel lines so that it could be retroed into 5,5 and 5gen SE tails. I sincerley thank everyone for their input in letting me know what will best serve the Maxima community!!!!

Ive seen this style on 4th gens and it looks pretty sick at night.

its a group of leds in the center for the signal and an outer ring for the brake and parking lights.

I would rather the amber part of the 5th gen lights be parallel and incorporate the "ring" effect for the brake and parking lights.

my .02

If you use pulse width modulation, you can use the same LED's for both the running and brake lights.
edit: I guess I should have said, If you use some form of "switchable" current limiting, then you can use the same LED's for both. (By "switchable" I mean there is a way to select one of two different current limits.) Where power is a concern PWM is a good choice. Another route could possbily use a relay that adds/subtracts resistance in the line(s) feeding the LED's depending up on whether you want them dimmer/brighter.

I don't like C becasue it's a round pattern in an oval housing.

This looks like a really sweet project Metal! make sure no one steals it.. So far, looks like the best LED option out there for our cars - I bet you could definitely get a company involved to produce them.

Like I mentioned to Metal, I will draw up the Kevlo style (straight lines of LEDs) and whatever else Metal throws at me when I get home tonight.

Also, one thing I thought about was, will the reflector still be built in? Just thinking for example, the reflector is integrated into the brake light area on our taillights.

I'm going to second this guy, but I want a combo of this and C, as I want to kill the inner amber section, but love the circular design....

Alright, fellas. I am actually going to make two versions available. One Kevlo-style with straight lines; I am still going to make style 02C as well, as I want this style for myself. Both will be made available for purchase.

A good portion of this will be gone to accomodate for the LED board.

NICE. Great job on AE-ing the tails. Any chance we could get the shot with the cleared out lens?

Now could we get a shot of, with the clear lens:

(1) Just the turn
(2) Just the brake

YGPM, THANK-YOU for the pics, man!!!
