squeaky rear springs, stock setup

i notice recently i've been getting a squeaky noise from the rear suspension...i further diagnosed it by pushing down on my trunk...and its definitely coming from the rear suspension...its a squeaky noise...same thing when you open a REALLY OLD door...

i coulda sworn there was a thread about this issue...and someone used some kind of spray to cure this...does anybody know what kind of spray it is? i have both wd-40 and silicon dry lubricant...

this happened to me when i switched my maxspeeds on. pull your carpet up in the trunk and make sure all 6 of those nuts are tightened down fully. that was my problem. if that doesnt solve it then i dont know.

Make sure your spring isolator/insulator is in good shape and that the springs are not in contact with the spring seats.

how many miles does your car have? Cuz high mileage probably indicate the struts are worned out. Ironically my stock SE shocks are getting too harsh and stiffer when I drive over a very rough pavement. Causing the car to shake. I don't remember when I got it brand new being this stiff. SInce my car has 48k on the clock. i wonder if the struts gone bad or something.

the car has 51k...but the suspension only has 28k (i was using aftermarket suspension for 2years)....i took note of the condition of the isolators before i put my stock suspension back on...and they are in great condition

Just wondering, did you use the red spacer between the strut mount and the chassis ?

It does make a difference if you take corners like you stole the car. That flimsy thing prevents metal to metal contact. Since our chassis is like TOFU compared to german cars, I think the chassis will flex with respect to the strut mount.

haha, well i'm far from taking corners like i stole the car...i can open my trunk, then push down on the edge, and it will squeak....i can also hear it when i'm rolling the car in 1st gear at low speeds (since there is slight bucking going on, when rollin the car in 1st, then releasing the gas)

BUMP.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, I've been searching and searching as I am having the same problem (and I don't want to get bashed on for making another thread). I already sprayed and nothing. The noise does not seem to be coming from the springs. What could it be? I live in an area that has a lot of speed bumps and this noise is driving me INSANE(I am new to this and know 0% about suspension). Everything on the car is stock, and the shocks don't seem to be blown out but who knows, you guys are the experts. Here's two videos of the annoying sound. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Worn strut mounts will squeak...especially if they're starting to fall apart.
