Gas Mileage

I have a 03 max and i live in NY
I wanted to check my gas mileage on a full tank.
I got a total of 145 miles on it. Is this normal with u guys.
I do basic street driving. I dont drive hard, and its rare that i on the highway.
I think that there is a problem, and what could it be.

Thats not normal with all city driving you should get 200 something miles to a tank at least.

Egads!! that's abnormal. I have a 01 3.0 engine i get almost 400 miles to tank. I think either you're putting lower octane than what the recommend rating where the EMC has to compenstate the gas to prevent anti knocking. or the car is very poorly maintained? I wouldn't know

that is a problem. have you left your car idling for a long amount of time? where in ny do you drive mostly? if its in manhattan during rushhour, its possible. i drive in queens (65%street travel/35%highwaytravel) and i play around alot and i get around 250 miles to a tank. how many miles are on your car? ever done service on it? air filter ever changed?

I just let the car warm up a little, and go. I really never let the car idle for long periods of time. I Always change the air filter, But i have not change my spark plugs since i got the car. All i have done is a Motor flush and here and there i use fuel injection cleaners.
O i am getting a funny sound when i touch the gas, the sound is hard to explain. Doesnt sound like metal, and by the way i have never use nothing less than 93, i know better than that.
