2000 spark plug gap ...

What's the correct gap I need to have these at? The owners manual says
.043 and according to this http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....80#post2815980, it's .044. Does it really make that huge of a difference?

if u have good quality platinum or a iridium plug, go for .044, if not, .043. the bigger, it is, the bigger the spark but you also run the risk of it not firing.

Don't gap a platinum plug, you can turn it into a copper plug real fast.
just make sure they are all close to the same

I don't remember for sure, but I thought I read somewhere, someone said the plugs are gapped correctly at the factory for our cars? I think not, they're gapped to .04 outta the box.

Has anyone gotten plugs from the dealer? Do they say Nissan or NGK on the box? Holly cow, they're spendy plugs, 13.49 @ Carquest, 12.99 @ Nappa, 12.50 @ some local place, 13.20 from dealer (yeah, not the most expensive), Autozone does not carry them, 9.98 @ Advanced Auto, that's where I got mine. Didn't want to wait for them, so I got locally.

Nope! just my personal experience and working with my tech friends, take it for what it’s worth.
How in the world are you going to gap a $13 iridium plug from .043 to .044????? and why????
Have you seen the electrode on those iridium’s?
I have never done this to any platinum or iridium plug i've replaced.
my .02

They're gapped at the factory @ .04, and they need to be at either .043 or
.044, if it was already at .043 or .044, I wouldn't care. They're platinum.

Speaking of which, has anyone measured the gap of their stock plugs? Are they all gapped to specs?

it would be very hard to do this seeing how most of the cars on here already have allot of miles.
