aftermarket y-pipe with stock catback
K, I want the car to sound stock, but i know the y-pipe gives some good gains
Anyone running this setup??
Was there still noticable gains?
Has anyone dynoed and still had gains with the stock catback.
Any info on how the car sounds outside and inside would be great help.

oh my 4th gen I didnt have all the money to do a full exhaust to I did one part at a time first y pipe then high flow cat and then cat back and then headers.
And when I installed the y pipe on all stock exhaust I felt a gain in power and it wasnt any louder.

at one point, my 3rd gen (vg) had ypipe and 5th gen muffler. at WOT the exhuast sounded a lil louder than it had when it was stock ypipe + 5th gen muffler. during normal driving, car sounded stock. performance wise, i felt a good amont of power throughout the rpm range. speed + rpm climbed even as i went past 110mph

If you have a 2000 with an EGR HotShots are an iffy set.
If you can have an EGR bung on BEFORE they go on the car it is not to bad.
The only other problem is the front primary o2 sensor, it has to be moved down so it does not hit the AC compressor.
I am selling my HotShots if you are interested... look in the my sig for the link.
