can someone help me make since of this fuel issue?

I've always run 93 octane in my max. and so did the owners before me.

The other day I decided to try 89 octane. I had about 1/8 th a tank left, then put in about 12gal. of 89. I have to say the car has run much better, and seems a good bit faster. The hesitation I was getting is no longer there. Any ideas as to why this would be?

Even though it may say 93 it may not be. It is surprisingly common to pay for 93 but get something less...always buy from one of the major companies even if you pay a bit more.
