replacing headlight bulbs

Replacing my hid bulbs has proven to be difficult - try as I might I simply cannot secure the darn bulb in the housing. A gut feeling tells me that I must be doing something wrong as replacing a headlight bulb should be a simple procedure that an 80 year old grandma can accomplish without tools of any kind. How does one get the retention clip to lock and scure the bulb?

on the bulb housing theres three different shaped notch like cutouts that have to lineup with the headlight housing. then the clips just need to be squeezed and slid inward.

misiek: I have the right bulbs as they're identical to the original ones - d2r for sure.

ColdSHO: I got the bulb lined up in the housing with the cutout and all - it sits flush. So all I do is squeeze the clips inward/towards eachother? I tried securing them one at a time...

u can one at a time, i find it easier to do them at the same time. just squeeze and push forward. they dont really move alot. theres not a real strong notification that theyre secure, theyll just be held in.
