Custom exhaust plan
Hi, I was just wondering if this should be possible.
I like the cattman exhaust, but really wanted Frankencar, and we all know what happened there.
Anyways, I wanted to go with an Apex-i WS2 muffler and have the piping done 2.5". I know I'm gonna have to take this to a custom place, but I noticed on Cattman's site that they sell the midpiping separately. Would I be able to get that and just have a muffler shop turn the WS2 into an axleback?
Btw, I know Cattman is on the .org, and I mean no offense to your products or anything, just want something a lil different. Thanks guys.

You should give the guys at Lou's Custom Exhaust in Lawrence a call. They'll tell you what they can and can't do. They put a custom catback on my 2k (Magnaflow resonator and muffler). I was happy with thier prices and work.

The numbers for the exhaust on a 5.5 gen are low, aren't they? Either way, as ricey as it sounds, I do want a nice tone from the car, but would also like performance. I do want headers as they do produce good +whp, but any car I've heard with headers only gives "angry bee syndrome". No offense meant.

I can understand by looking at it at a performance perspective, and from reading that sticky, it seems the muffler isnt restrictive, and as little as there is, it would lie in the B-pipe. I figure if I replace that, I would want some sound to go with it. So IMO the cost of the muffler is worth it, as long as it sounds nice and un-ricey.
Don't get me wrong though NmexMAX, I respect your opinion and you seem very knowledgable on this topic. I've seen your mod list in your sig and nowhere found an "E", so you def have good reason.

At the current moment I have headers, stock cat, cattman B and stock rear section.
There is a B in my sig...
But I had stock everything except for headers for over a year and a half... Couldn't tell.
I like this sound (+bpipe) better than stock, and to the untrained ear, it sounds stock. I know steven88 has the same set-up, except he has a straight pipe, so that adds rasp to the equation.
If you ever plan on getting headers, plan on going back to stock rear section.

Hopefully, I'll try to order headers and at least the B-pipe at the same time so I can experiment. Headers are key for me because of the gains, but when it comes to the exhaust, based on the knowledge on the .org, sound is key.

It's your car though....so whatever look you like is what you should get!

I like the WS2 for the sound, and the appearance is better than some. IMO it doesn't look as ricey as the N1 or those "melon-shooter" cans, but doesn't look as close to stock as the Frankencar or the Cattman. To me, looks like the Stillen/Greddy SP2 style. Either way, we'll see. If this project is too expensive, I'll probably go Cattman.
