I'd just clean it up a bit and monitor it. It shouldn't be leaking though.

If its that young it should still be under warranty. just get it replaced.

Get it replaced asap. You're leaking sulfuric acid.

DO NOT GET IT ON YOUR SKIN. DO NOT FLUSH WITH WATER.

If you get any of the liquid on your skin, wipe it off with a towel then wash thoroughly. It will eat through metal and skin every easily. Do NOT f*ck around with this stuff, this is a major problem man.

And if the health reason is not motive enough...

The sulfuric acid is the main component in the electrolysis process that generates the electrons for your system, SO, in due time, as it leaks out, your battery will continually lose its potential.

so if i touched it and its fine it should be leaking right? cause when it looks clear i wiped it with my fingers (cause it didnt look like the acid) and it was ok.

and i just checked after wiping it clean two days ago...looks like its leaking from the top, but its all clear (battery is black) and there is no white residue or crust, just clear. and it hasent rained in days to no way its water, WEIRD.

try dippin your hand inside the battery and fishing around for some foreign material that shouldn't be in there...

Metal is right though - your battery definitely should not be doing that and I would replace it asap just to avoid any accidents..

ok, got it replaced under warrantee, with another cheap crappy one. woundering if its the quality of the battery that makes it leak?

or could it be that i screwd the tie down too hard? that could cause a leak right?

You don't want to tighten it too much. Just make it snug. Snug means its just enough to hold but not so tight.

It's pretty subjective. You should be able to figure it out

Possible......you don't want to "graunch" it down. Like PAREDLINE said..... just snug enough to hold it in place. Whenever you take something apart such as the battery holder off the old battery as an example, make a mental note of how tight it was.
