well i just got a new maf and installed it, now is doing the ecu reset procedure with the gas pedal the same as the dealer reprogramming?

 

they are not the same procedure but the only 5th gens that needed the reprogramming via the consult 2 is the 2k/2k1. the reset will only set certain parameters to an unlearned state so the car is forced to see new readings. you really only need to reset the ecu if the cel is on, otherwise the car will pick up everything it needs simply by driving.

 

so i have an 2002 and i just did the maf replace, so just drive it, do the pedal reset, or consult 2 reset?

 

if the check engine light is on then you can do the reset to get it to go away. if its not on then put it in, plug it up and drive.

 

well my cel is on cuz my o2 sensor is bad
