Hey,
Sorry, if this thread has been repeated, but i am really upset and cant find anytihng else.
I am having a big issue. I am trying to take out my Bose Headunit. I unscrewed everything. i have the headunit and the climate control out of the car. I cant unscrew the brackets that are holding them together. The only thing i have achieved is taking out one screw out of 8 and kidna stripping the other once. What can i do to get them out. What have u guys done to get that thing out. Any help is really needed

You need to use a small propane torch to heat up the bolts. A lighter might do too. There's alot of threadlock on them, and if you heat them they'll loosen easier.

18v drill set to highest torque setting + putting your weight into it and pulling the trigger.

Always snapped 'em loose for me.

yeah i did the same thing had to replace my radio. I had to drill the screws out that were stuck.

Well, as nutty as this may sound, you actually want to drill them in TIGHTER. This will bust them loose and allow you to back them out.

that is actually the way to do it....I used to work at an audio shop and thats what we did. Yes it sounds strange, but it works so I don't care.

I use an impact screwdriver that when you hammer it turns too and it also presses it hard so you don't strip it. Every single one comes out like a champ everytime i do them

also idk if u were using a drill or not but old fashioned screw driver works best
and i would go with metal's method and tighten first to "crack" the seal and then unscrew anyway glad it worked out for u good luck with the rest

I used a screw driver bit attached to a socket and a iron tube onto the end and put some **** into it. No biggie.
