Found a Code (P1320) need your help please

i went to autozone and scanned it with OBD found this (P1320) look like Ignition Signal. I have no idea what this is about i first thought it could be oxygen sensor but doesnt look like it. so does anyone know what do i need to replace in order to get rid of this problem? by the way i erased the code and SES light disapeared. do i need to replace or service anything to ensure myself that this code wont pop up again? thanks in advance.

its one of your ignition coils that goes over the spark plug.

Use this as a guide to find which coil(s) needs to be replaced:

good question, i personally would change the plugs if you haven't done so to rule out a bad plug too, but it may be only one ignition coil going bad. do the test puppetmaster posted to find out which coil(s) it is.

are you getting any misfires? or weird idles like jittery idles or anything?... basically does the car seem to be running okay?

you more then likly will throw another code p132(1-6) and the last number dictates the cylinder that the misfire is occuring in, if i remember correctly and 9 times out of 10 its a coil and its probally either the front middle cylinder or the front drivers side 4 and 6 maybe? idk. but if nothing comes back dont worry about it IMO..

>>theres alot on coils search em up

>>or you could spend 80$ per coil and replace them all and 50 bucks on plugs..in hope that that will clear all your worries

no i am not getting any misfire or any rough idles. the car runs fine. i did replace the spark plugs 20,000 miles ago. i dont know what causes the coil to go bad...and i erased that code with OBD code reader the SES light has not poped up since then. i planning to have my mechanic test all the coils and have the bad one replaced. do i need to replace all 6 or just replace the bad one? to be on the safe side i would replace all six if recommended. thanks for your input.

you can never go wrong replacing all 6 if your pockets can take it. but if things are tight just replace the bad ones.

I only replaced 2 in Jan 06 and have no problems at all since. My feeling is that if you can figure out which ones are bad, why replace all six? It is not a repair that takes any amount to get to the coils and is extremely easy to replace one at a time. The coils are a trouble spot on maximas but it is not a 100% guarantee that every coil will fail, so save your cash.

how to find out which one is bad? my SES light is no longer active cuz i erased the code with OBD reader. i went to mechanic and he said that he cant tell which one is defective untill the SES light pops up again. and one mechanic asked for $60 just to find out the bad coil by testing every single coil. i dont wanna pay $60 just to figure which coil is bad its better i wait for the SES light to become active then pay $30 to another mechanic who could find out by using his large size of OBD II reader. if 1 is bad i might go ahead and replace one with the help of write up.

P1320 doesnt tell you which specific coil/cylinder has a miss so it doesnt matter
P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305 or P0306 is what you need to look for when you get a specific miss

oh and this is all information from bigfatty's thread so i suggest you read up some more...

..personally i wouldnt worry about it right now if u have no code and if your car is running fine.... your car could of had a breif misfire only once or maybe you have a tank of bad gas idk? is your milage normal?

anyways..dont pay a mechanic to read a code that u can get read for free at autozone.. wait till the code comes back (if it does at all) and then go back to autozone or advanced and haven them read the code cuz their readers can pick up more then one code... unless you have alot of money and u want to just go ahead and replace all 6 coils

BTW- autozone or advanced ( i forget which one) sells coils for our cars and there about 75 each.. and i have bought 3 of them and dont have any problems
