Differences between 350Z/G35 and 5.5 Gen ECU?
Differences between 350Z/G35 and 5.5 Gen ECU?
This is probably a stupid question, but I was reading about CobbTuning's AccessPort on the Vboard/Cobb Forums and stumbled upon their development thread for the 350Z/G35:

Anyways, I'm sure there are differences, but would something like this be easy for them to develop for our cars? I would think this could be much better than a SAFC/VAFC, provided I don't know TOO much about them. If this is a retarded thread, flame away.

BTW, they are taking off with this for the Sentra for things like better timing, fuel maps, data logging, and complete original returnability. I would hope if there's enough interest on this, as they are located in Utah, maybe someone local could let them check out their ECU for a bit?
While this is a good idea, it won't work for us even if it comes through.
I'm not sure if the connectors are same (I think they are), but the pinouts are completely different. I know the Z/Gs share the same connectors and pinouts as some later year Maximas and Altis, but definitely not the 5/5.5 Maximas.

IIRC, Intake, exhaust, cam's and tuning differences.
Except for the Rev up motors they all share identical engine internals. The main differences are intake manifold, exhaust system and minor ecu changes. The ECU's are completely different and won't be interchangable with any 5th gen Max. The exhaust seems to be the majority of the power differences.
