Shifter cable snapped, help please.
Shifter cable snapped, help please. EDIT: Pics added
Driving to my girlfriends house today, I noticed my shifter being looser. Didn't make much of it, maybe a bushing torn or something. All of a sudden, can't shift anything, stuck in Neutral, had to come to a stop on the side of the road. Basically, the cable from the shifter lever itself snapped in half, about an inch away from the lever itself. To get home, I had two gears, 3rd and 4th, and I literally had to push and pull onto the cable itself.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? Any insight on what I have to go through to fix this? I have powertrain coverage, not sure if they will cover it, especially because I have the ES bushings + synthetic tranny fluid. Help please.

Doubt if they would even notice/ care about your bushings or tranny oil. Take it in and see what they say... If you're not happy with their answer, dont have them do the work.
Sorry to hear about this though... Seems pretty weird.

Update: Went to the dealership today, said they won't cover it under warranty. Part cost: $270.00 + about 300 in labor. They said they could try to weld it together, but they couldnt guarantee it for $150.
Verdict: No to dealership. Trying JBWeld tomorrow, if no luck, time to get a new part.

Try a junkyard? It may be hard to find a wrecked 5.5 6MT, but you never know.
Also see if this guy still has the part(s) you need:

Your best bet would still be to call and find out, although the site will help you find a list of yards in your area.
I wouldn't count on JB weld holding up at all. I wouldn't even bother with it. It's good stuff but not for that sort of application. Find someone else to weld it cheaper. A good weld should hold fine there. Find a welding/fabrication shop. One of those guys would probably do it for a couple bucks on the side.
Just make sure you use someone who welds all the time and is good at it. The guys at the dealership don't weld much if they do it at all.
