Any New Thoughts?????

I am getting the dreaded blinking airbag light on my 01. It started yesterday and I searched and found a thread with the 7second 3second method 30 seconds on, one second on and off like the writeup says and this did not work for me. I waited until the airbag light blinked until I started counting the 7 seconds like everyone says and followed this with a stopwatch and still the problem exists. I did get a gold diehard battery installed two weeks ago and was wondering if this could have tripped something.. Can I unplug the battery overnight and cure this because I don't want to make a trip to the stealership for something I know people have fixed themselves.... THANKS FOR ANY INPUT...............

I don't see how a battery replacement would have done anything, but, I guess anything is possible. When it comes to Airbags and safety related parts, I usually would have the Stealership look at it.

The maxima has a few different airbag wires throughout the car, you could have accidentally disconnected one of them, if the car was on, and the wire was tripped you could just need it to be reset, anyone with a nissan computer would be able to reset it for you, unless you actually tripped the airbag itself, then you would need to replace it. Once you check with the computer it will tell you which airbag was tripped. and all you have to do is reset it using the tool. Hope this helps.

My 03 air bag light came on due to a very low battery. Once charged, I had the code cleared at auto-zone and it has never come back, so battery voltage issues can trigger it. Clear it now that you have the battery fixed and see what happens.
