Steering Wheel Radio Remote

Has anyone experienced an issue with the steering wheel radio remote, sometimes it works and other times it does nothing?

My steering wheel controls are finicky.. I find they often will not work well when the car is very cold.. they will usually work if I keep pushing them though. Not sure if it's a loose connection or if I just need to replace the controls..

They are fairly cheap to replace... Just call Dave B for pricing.

I just got a 01 maxima, it has a problem with the remote seeming like there is a short in it. Luckily it is still under warranty and I am taking it to the dealer on Monday to get replaced.

eh.. i just reinstalled my stock bose headunit today... sent the alpine cda-9855 in for repairs... my steering wheel controls still work .. knocks on wood.. but they tend to cut out if i take a sharp turn... but who would be messing with their radio while taking precision sharp turns? hehe

With this, yes.

So if you replace the unit w/ the buttons on it... No more issues?

or you if u have a aftermarket headunit with a "Wired" remote control input.. u can buy the SWI-xxx version for that.. like the swi-alp. which is for alpine.. imo wired is better. u wouldnt have to run that infared/led wire out into your cabin aiming at the HU..
