I am about to look for someone to do the windows on a 2001 SE, but am limited by the state laws I will soon move into in Tennessee. They require no darker than 35% and no tint on the windshield. Does anyone have pics of this % on their Maximas? Please post if you do.

I have 35% on all side windows and the rear window. It's a metallized tint, too. I just don't have any current pictures to show with the tint (all the pics on my site are pre-tint). I think it makes it look pretty good, but I wish that I had gotten the rear window darker by a shade. If you get the rear a shade darker, it makes all the windows look darker.
I'll try to take some pics with the tint, but the sun has to come out first.

ED I'm next state over in NC. this is what I do. Even with my old Max and my 4Runner. I took it to a inspection shop where I knew the guy and he puts N/A for window tint. I'll worry about it when the cops stop me for tints. so far liveing in NC for 6 years I have yet to have a Cop stop me for tints. have been pulled over for other stuff and even then they didn't seem to care about the tints.
I got 20% all around, no strip on the windshield..

took pictures of my battered max (dumb girls in durangos) with the tint, in the developing process. All i have to say is that the laws are meant to be broken, when you see it you'll like it trust me. Limo(5%) on the main windows 35% on the windshield and I'm not talking about a strip. The pic below you can see the limo on the rear window. As far as the law goes, all you have to do is roll both windows down when you get pulled over, they appreciate that regardless of the tint, plus they can't make you roll the windows up!

This is 35% Formula One metallic tint on everything but the front. I heard there might be problems with radio reception and metalic tint, but I have not noticed one bit of difference since I got it. Only problem I have is that the film doesn't look great where all the black dots are at the top of the rear window.

no pics but......
what I did was go with 28 % for the back window plus the rear sides. Then went with 35% for the front sides. I think it looks really sharp. The 28% windows bring down the 35% windows to appear darker from the outside than they actually are, without affecting visibility from the drivers seat. Its sort of cool "graduated transition" look.

OT : (TommyBoisxty9) My wheels
are called "wishbone". The brand is Nippon Racing and I think that they are made by OBX racing. Here is a link to the OBX site. I got mine in NY. They run about $165/wheel. Go to the site below then click "Nippon Wheels" on the left of the resulting page.

Yeah, I've been admiring your rims. Very nice. $165 is a great price.

I should use the quote function more, 2K2DEMAX said he had the Joshua Tree kit in his sig. I want to see it installed, not just the layout pics that they have on their website. I want the molded piece for the A/C and the shifter, but the company that makes them doesn't make any pieces for the stereo, A/C controls, dash bezel, and sunroof controls. I was thinking of buying both kits in the metal and mixing them, but I don't think that they'll mathc in pattern.

BTW, Joshua Tree's kit doesn't include the sunroof controls either.

Even if 0% tint were allowed...and it looked cool, your visibility is NOTHING at night. I wouldn't go more than a 20% tint all around, and I'd leave the front winshiled untinted...anything darker and you have trouble seeing at night. also, anything more than 20% kinda is see through still...and it looks weak
