We have 3 drivers in the family and I live a bike ride to work. I was under trmendous pressure to allow my wife and son to use my Maxima.
I feel my Maxima has been permanently damaged.
1. They touched the Bose + CD Changer
2. They fiddled with the sun roof.
3. The car has odors it never had before.
4. The carpets and mats are no longer spotless.
5. They use the key instead of the fob, risking scratches.
6. They park too close to others.
7. I find the A/C H/V has bizarre settings.
8. They fiddled with the seat settings.
9. Probably filled up with 80 octane gas.
10. They turn the ignition with the engine on.
11. The windows, and therefore the windshield wipers, have bird **** on them.

I feel I have been unfaithful to my Maxima and to you guys.

Paranoid, huh?
Don't worry, I think that worrying about your car is completely normal.

This is normal Max owner behavior... you are not strange but your car is probably fine.

Don't you hate that feeling of being violated! It's not strange, I feel that same way whenever I have passengers. I don't allown ANYONE to be in the drivers seat. SHE is ALL MINE! (Stingy little sh*t aren't I)

I actually feel funny when somebody else drives my car (eg girlfriend). They change the seat setting, mess with the radio, fiddle with the mirrors, and track dirt all over the place.

Funny you feel that way... I used to always do that to the other cars in my house. I'll move my mom's power seat or turn her car around in the garage once in a while. Can't do it anymore, since roommates aren't family... think that's called grand theft.

The situation is hopeless. Your Maxima has been defiled. There's only one thing you can do now: First thing tomorrow morning- take it down to your local Nissan dealer and see what they will give you in trade towards a 2002 260hp Maxima, and order it! (this alternative is far less expensive than a divorce lawyer too!)

nothing that a dose of Prozac and some Zaino products would not repair. Try www.griotsgarage.com for interior cleaner also as it is the best. Buy her one and then you won't need to have yours driven, or replace yours with a new one and hand down the other.......

Why did *I* let *my* wife and son...

I let me wife use my Maxima to take our son to the grocery store today. As she was driving off, I recalled that scene in "Return of the Jedi" where Han Solo has just let Lando Calrissian use the Falcon. He says "I dunno, I just got a feeling like I'm never gonna see her again." Well, the wife comes back and says the ever-ominous "I need to show you something."

She had opened the rear door too wide and pegged some other guy's mirror. It left two small scratches just above the handle, driver's side.

My Max is just 45 days old, too!

Maybe I can polish them out, but the paint is so thin I'm afraid to try.

Jack-that's why no one has a set of keys for my car, beside myself...I bought my wife a new Honda Accord Special Edition the same time I bought my Max...case closed-no excuses, whining, etc...

My sincerest regrets on the scratches...learn from your mistake...only a Max owner knows how to care for his(her) Max...
