Grinding Noise

I just got my car worked on last week. I had the axle and axle seal replaced. This grinding noise didn't come up till yesterday and i had it worked on last week. When i drive the car in the morning when it's still a bit cold, there is this grinding noise, but when i let go of the gas it goes away. When the car is all warmed up it goes away also.

can someone help me out?

Does the grinding vary with road speed or engine speed? Auto or 5sp? Is it low pitched or high pitched. There may be something rubbing that got moved or is loose from the axle and axle seal replacement last week.

Need more info.

I had a similar problem, now it's gotten so bad my tranny leaks fluid.

1) could be the internal bearings in the tranny.
2) could be your bearings in the spindles.

hope that helps.

hate to state the obvious, but start with the easy things first:

make sure that your pads aren't low, and that the dust shield isn't rubbing the back of the rotor....

yeah it might be the brakes.

But i just had them changed about 3 months ago. But maybe with my driving who knows. i'm going to tear down the suspension tonight and see what it is.

it's not the transmission or the axle from what i heard from people, so yeah

well it's not the brakes. I checked it tonight. The pads are still quite meaty. WTH could it BE?!

Now the sound is worse. It does it 24/7.

hmmm ok so i found out the problem. I was missing a washer between the bracket and caliper. The caliper was rubbing against the rotor.

My problem was a wheel bearing. The dealership replaced the bearing and all is well.

Just go back and say that since you dd the axle it started making this noise. They'll either tell you what the problem is no charge or fix something if they ****ed up. However not much could go wrong.
Is it a grrr around 30-40 k? -bearing. But axle slides through bearing.
So go back anything can go wrong. It won't kill you.
