please SOMEONE help me with my Headlights

i blacked out and cleared out my headlights about a month ago. I put everything back together(the headlight), and also used a silicone sealer to seal it. One of the headlights sealed perfectly fine. However, the other doesnt seem to want to seal and it keeps on fogging. I opened that headlights and resealed it about 3 times now, and nothing helps. It looked good for like a week, then i got a car wash, and that headlights fogged again. PLEASE, someone tell me what to do. Im tired of opening this headlight and sealing it.....

ANy help will be appreciated. Thanks

you could try using a different sealant. Pep boys should have some silicone for something like this. I guess the worst would be to buy a whole new headlight. Did u heat it up whhen u were sealing it? A heat gun should do this well or pop it in the oven at a low temp.

Best sealant is the OEm nissan stuff... a lot of HID retro fitters recommend it.

^ I'll second that.... It's pretty popular on HIDPlanet. I'll see if I can dig up a link to it for you.

thank you guys. I did get a pep boys sealent which seems pretty good. it sealed my other headlight perfectly. However, i dont know whats wrong with this one. As to the heating of it, what i did is that when i wanted to close up the headlight i put the silicone, and attached the headlight together without heating it. Is that a problem??

well what is your procedure when you open it up? I mean, if there is just dried water on the lense (or anywhere inside the headlight), it will eventually cause condensation so you can't just wipe it down with a towel and be done. It happened to me about two weeks after I cleared my headlight. What I did was take it apart, and completely clean everything on the inside with 3M plastic polish. This got rid of any water that might be in there. Then after I put the headlight on my car, I left the clearance light out so that some air could get in there...if you're using sealant, I doubt that is the problem. I've taken my headlights apart around 8 times and not once have I used extra sealant, and my headlights are perfectly fine now.

i guess that thats the problem. You know any other way to clean the inside rather then using the polish. I am actually opening up the headlight while we are talking right now, and can not go buy it without a headlight in my car...lol...will simple green do it?? or something like that.

When you re-seal your headlight, you should place the lense and housing back in the oven to soften up the pre-existing sealant, then take it out, attach the 2 pieces, and put it back in the oven for a few more minutes (from what I've read).
