LTB creaking during turns

Any ideas on what is causing this? I had the car on a lift, and looked under it, everything looked fine.

Ahhh damn...we had someone on NYCMaximas with this same problem. I'll try to search the thread -- but if I recall, the sound was actually normal. I'll check back if I find it.

I really hope it isnt normal, it is very annoying especially when you are trying to keep the car quiet for whatever reason (girlfriend, phone call, etc...)

are you using stock ltb bushings, or the the es poly ones?
i am seeing the same issue, and want to try the poly ones myself.

did you torque the front nuts for the LTB with the car on the ground, or with it up on jacks?

if the latter, there is your problem.

also, make sure they're tight enough. It needs to be serious tight.

the "creaking sound" is from tight turns? if yes, I'm having exactly the same problem. At first, I thought that it's my new springs but now I see it's the ltb.

I know exactly what the problem is if you have the Stage II...

During installation, I noticed that the right rear mounting point didn't line up with the hole correctly. I was doing this on jackstands so I didn't have much room to work, but I tried to force it over the hole the entire time I was putting in the bolt, but I guess I stripped a few of the threads on the bolt, and when those threads got to the tap on the subframe, it stripped those too.

It was fine for a while until I hit it once on the ground. Then the rear mounting point came lose...I re-tapped the subframe and got a new bolt and tried the procedure again....well that still didn't work so recently I removed the LTB and put in a new helicoil insert with a new bolt and no LTB. Well again, that worked for a while but the creaking started again 2 days ago...my next step is I'm going to buy an entire new subframe and install it and leave the LTB off or get it installed somewhere I have access to a lift, since it would make it easier to line up the holes...It sucks because now my dash rattles again going over bumps and it's especially annoying now because I got so used to it being gone with the LTB on.

However, for some reason, my car rides a LOT better with it off now...I'm really confused on this one because when I initially installed the LTB, I noticed how much BETTER my ride was...I guess with that loose mounting point, the LTB was hitting up against the car and making bumps more jarring

Anyway I'm really pissed because my car sounds like a POS , because it creaks when accelerating, braking, or turning

ha, I also stripped threads on one bolt and on one subframe's hole too.

Thanks for your responses guys. I did torque them down while it was on jacks, so that is probably part of my problem. I hope to take it off, add the ES bushings, reinstall everything and torque them down on the ground. I probably won't be able to do this for a bit of time, but I will post results.
