Installed AE pedals today.
Had to replace the entire accelerator assembly but
surprisingly, it was very simple... just two nuts and a plastic grommet - 15 mins. The brake and clutch pedal covers were a beeyatch though - 20 mins each.

Any tips to pass on? I'm wanting to do the same thing to my car.

Let the pads warm up

After struggling with the brake pad cover,
I let it warm up on the dash for a few minutes
and it was much easier to work with.

Besides scooter's tip, you can also spary the pad with WD40. After about 30 minutes of struggling with my brake pedal, I used WD-40 (thanks Dave Burnette for the tip), soaked the brake pedal pad with it, and it just slid right on. Only thing is to make sure you put a towel on the floor because some WD40 will leak out and if you don't want it on your carpet, this will help.

Time before WD40 - 30 minutes
Time after WD40 - 30 seconds

Now if I can only get my accelerator pedal to work - maybe I should try the WD40 again

Perhaps jashick could explain exactly how he replaced the accerlerator pedal assembly. That would be a good FAQ, by the way (note: pics are not necessary).

The cost is about $60. Check the parts list as a sticky of this forum. The parts list gives a pretty accurate cost.

Sorry I have no digital camera, hence, no pics.

For the gas pedal assembly...
1) Since space is very limited down there, I suggest removing the panel below the steering wheel. To do this, you probably need to remove the door/carpet plastic trip then for the panel, remove 2 screws on lower side. Then, pull top area (there are 2 plastic snaps and one tab that acts as an alignment guide).
2) On the gas pedal bracket, there are 2 nuts... remove these.
3) On the upper part of the gas lever, there's the throttle cable attached to the gas lever via a white plastic grommet that snaps into a hole on the end of the lever. You'll see the throttle cable with a hexagonal know at the end, black rubber spacer, white grommet... give the cable some slack and carefully pop out the white plastic piece by squeezing the free end and inserting through the hole. Be careful not to damage the plastic piece cuz replacing it looks like a hassle... it looks like it's easily damageable so be careful. The gas pedal is now free to remove.
4) Put new gas pedal by following previous steps in reverse order.

If you decide to hack off the bracket piece and just replace the pedal, I suggest you get some heat shrink because the new pedal will be very loose on the old lever assembly.

good prices on AE Pedals

if you guys want a excellent price on the AE Pedals, try out Dave B, get his price then check out Tustin Nissan at: http://tustinbuick.com/nissan/partsorder.html and click the chat with a live technician button at the top of the page, and talk to scott, tell him you are from maxima.org and you were interesed in ordering those parts, he will give you a better price than Dave B, or at least in my case when I bought them he did. I got AE Sills + AE Pedals (brake / accel) for 90$ all together. Check it out! His name is scott. tell him Mansoor sent ya!
