catback exhaust options ?? 2002-2003

Are the only options cattman, hks, greddy and frakencar(which is gone?)

Got off the phone with james at tanabe usa. trying to see if they would manufacture a system for us. He said demand is not there..they need at least 50-100 people interested. Can we do something about this?

Also want to talk to fujitsubo but they are hard to reach. The guy is not very interested. Man business is tough when the demand is so low..

Well any opinions or thoughts would be nice...

I would say tht Cattman B pipe and stock rear section would be the best option.
Why have something desienged when there are already choices out there? I realize it's good to have options, but I wouldn't spend the energy on something as simple as a cat-back.

If you are not happy with pre-made systems, maybe make a custom one with components of your choice? Many people here have used Magnaflow, Flowmaster, Borla...etc mufflers.

Throw some Magnaflow tips on the stock exhaust and you're set. I am completely happy with mine.

you know that you can use the 2006 spec-v catback my friend has one and it bolts straight up to my 2k2 maxima, that makes your options a whole lot bigger

Do you know if it is any less restrictive, or if the inlet is any larger than the oem maxima one?

As long as this is true, that is very interesting.

Does anyone know the diameter of the stock piping to compare?

I measured my rear section and its 2 inches ID...I have not measured my bpipe...but I'm going to assume its very similiar in ID...just by eyeballing it out...

exactly what I was thinking as well...if you really wanted to get some other system...such as fujitsubo or tanabe...just buy one of their mufflers and get a shop to make custom 2.5 inch piping with custom hangers....who knows how much it will cost...but you gotta pay to play...

and yes, FC, Cattman, Greddy, etc...are the only catbacks available for our cars...

so, a bpipe and a rear section or just the muffler would be a gain. last time i looked under my car the exhaust look quite small.

you would benefit more from the bpipe than the rear section....the stock rear section performs great

I dont know if this contributes to anything, but I just got off the phone w/ Brian from Cattman and placed an order for a bpipe for my 03 max to go along with my cattman rear section. He said the full catback exhaust should run somewhere around 223 on the dynojet and it should add a good 12-14hp. Dont know if these numbers help, but its a pretty nice gain

you will gain more power with the b-pipe. Im kinda in the same boat, i want the cattman c/b and i know im just going to pay for the sound vs. performance. put the cattman exhaust sounds so god damn good!

I would have to disagree with cattman on this one...223whp on a DJ JUST from a catback isn't normal...I'd say 215whp is the norm

Have you tried Stillens Muffler and cat back options. I still have a stock 03 but the Stillen Muffler is supposed to be a 3 or 4 hp gain and have the sound of a stock 350z. Pretty quiet I guess. They also have a HKS that looks like the stock one but I think its loud.

Im sorry I forgot to mention that 223 was the number he gave me that included some other mods of mine, not the CB exhaust alone.

Depends on what you're looking for and what mods you currently have, as this will contribute to amplifying at your tips.

Was not referring to what was used and how, just said I hit 215. Maybe I missed something here, I dunno.

EDIT: I just re-read the post, I was insinuating that I hit 223 when I was referring to the 215 figure.

haha, even if you were referring to your 215 dyno...its still not a valid comparison...SLVRMAXX mentioned a dynojet reading...whereas you dynoed on a dynapack...completely different machines that can mean BIG hp differences...

oh btw gary, i should let you know before you ask again...headers are sold as of yesterday...i took them off and the guy came over and picked them up....he drove as quickly as he could too! i guess everybody wants headaars
