Rear Fog Light (installed)
Great job Josh. My only concern would be, is that is may cause a glare because of the mirror effect of light being inside the car, and darkness on the outside.
My idea/moddification to your project would be to mount the unit you bought vertically alongside the left of the license plate.
Now that I'm ordering a set of Blizzaks WS-60's I may add this little nifty safety item, or I can opt to take the SUV skiing.
Just note, that if the car will be used in winters, and you do insall the rear fog in the lower bumper, there is a possibility of it getting coverer with salt, sand or snow.

Got done with the wiring and whatnot. I did it a little bit different than irish but same general idea. The glare is not an issue really at all for those wondering.
Irish - one other question for you if you don't mind. I tried to get mine higher up to clear the spoiler but also I realized that it's still BELOW the last defroster line.
Do you have any problems with that in the snow? The snow may pile up and block the light. I haven't had a chance to test it yet in the snow but I was wondering you had any experience. Does the snow pile up there while your moving, or if you clear it off before hopping in the car, you're good?

Good job on being the second to try it out. Lets see some pictures.
BTW which light did you use? The same as irish44j?

I did a search on ebay for "red led" and came up with may choices to build on the idea of a rear fog for te Maxima.
For one, the link here. It's a bulb that should be able to fir inside the brake light housing.
A hole will need to be drilled in the housing and a socket will have to be glued.

I found something that also might work well. http://www.oznium.com/oval-led-lamp
Also check out there other items. I have ordered a few times from them and the products are of excellent quality and priced reasonably too.

/\/\ I think irish has another thread where he tried hacking up a tail but didn't have much luck finding a place for an extra bulb to go.
Here's a quick pic of mine

I can get more pics (including the mounting) if anyone is interested. It's hard to take good pics of lighting mods but the rear fog IS much brighter than the tails and is a nice addition IMHO.

Oh and thanks for the reply Irish about the snow cover, I need to drive around with it a bit in the snow and see where the snow falls. I'm also pretty **** about getting the car cleared well before driving.
Pictures are looking good. If I get my Blizzaks real soon, I might consider doing this.
It's not about being **** about having snow on your car. It's only right not to let the snow fly onto others cars while your driving. It's also for your saftey. Think about stopping with snow on your roof, and the whole thing coming down onto your windshield in one sheet. Usually doesn't have a good out come.
On the other hand, it's the law.
Nice idea for safety.
If you get too much inside reflection I would get some 3rd brakelight housings from a pic and pull. This will eliminate interior reflection completely. I bet this will keep the tailgaters off your butt too.
I usually just turn my 4 way flashers on in dense fog, this is why I haven't turned my rear signal lamps to red.

Nice 2yr old bump.
Anyway, I had rear foglights on my Volvo and used them only once or twice a year but I understand others deal with fog more often. Maybe thats why no one around here understands them and they just seem to think Im riding the brakes with one brake light out. Oh well.

Since I work at the parts department of an Infiniti dealership, I am able to order parts for some Nissans. I have ordered the rear foglight for a Juke which happens to be the same as the ones offered for the EDM Infiniti G37s....
