How particular is Nissan on honoring the warranty

When it comes to service history? I have reciepts for all my oil changes but a couple of them were 4-5k miles between changes.

I've had SES light come on a few times over the past few months. First time I took it in they said the SES light wasn't on (even though it had been on for a good week+ prior to that). Second time (last week) they said the knock sensors needed to be replaced which I had them do. The light went on again on Saturday and so back it went yesterday. Now they are saying it's the knock sensors again but since they know the knock sensors are good they are going to look at the camshafts but they want to see service history before covering it under the powertrain warranty.

what kind of warranty work are you looking to have done? oil change record wont affect extended warranty work on warped rotors and such. your question is too vague. more details would help

Sorry, details added.

The car has 58k miles on it and I've owned it since day one.

Well, good news. Nissan is going to cover my car under the powertrain warranty and they are replacing the entire engine. Apparently, they found some galling on the cam journals and they think some metal bits might have found their way into the rest of the engine so they are just going to replace it to be on the safe side.

Thank you Nissan!!! This is a huge relief for me.

Oh, and kudos to Mossy Nissan for getting this taken care of too!!!
