Rear Suspension -- Ping/Ting/Clang

Hi all,

I'm getting an odd ping/ting/clang when I take a right turn over a bump. I don't get it when going straight and it appears to be coming from the passenger rear. I have not done any brake work on the rear, only addition was the Stillen RSB which has been on since this past summer.

Anything to look for? Car has 58k miles.

Have you checked your spare tire/jack?

You may want to check the mounts on your RSB. Bolts do come loose on occasion....

If it was my wife's car, I'd tell her to clean out her trunk first......but that's another story.

Yeah, I took care of the spare tire/jack a while back. Tied the tools off with some cloth to quiet them down. No extra stuff in the trunk or back seat.

I was thinking it might be a spring or shock...just not sure what to check out.

I had the same problem on my '01 GXE with some 65K miles. After changing out the rear struts, the noise seems to have been gone so far.

Anything noticable with the old struts that would cause a noise?
