Silverstar Ultra

For all non-hid owners:

Has anybody installed these yet and notice a difference from regular silverstars? I found this website but I cant imagine that they truly look like this. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I would love to go with HID, and have looked at the projectors on eBay for ~$200, but I think I should just wait before I drop about $600 on HID.

Here is the link with pics.

Maybe you should read the ENTIRE page you linked...

Question & Answer:

Q: What is the main difference between regular and ultra Silverstar bulbs?

A: The lifespan on the Ultra bulb are a lot longer then the regular ones.

Let me rephrase, I want to know if anyone has them installed and can tell a visual difference or is it the same as regular silverstars. The only selling point may be the life of the bulb and thats what I want to know.

I put some on my Z32 and there's really no difference. If there is... you would hardly be able to tell. I still love them though, I put Silverstar bulbs in everything I own.

On that picture in the link above, they due produce a blue-ish light from the sides but from the front are very white. I think the color is around 4,000K, which is almost exactly where you want it. Once you start getting into the real blue and purple, light output starts to diminish and its harder on your eyes.

My ex-girlfriend had silverstarts in her Civic, one blew and her dad replaced it with a silverstar ultra and I could tell a difference. The ultra IS a little brighter, and maybe a hint more blue.

The ultra was also brand new... So it will be brighter than a bulb that had been used anyway.

halogen buld don't blow, like you would see on a household bulb since Halogen slowly dim out til out. Since the filment are very strong and the bulb are sealed

I have the regular silverstars in my Max, but my boyfriend has the silverstar ultras in his Jetta, and his seem to be whiter and brighter. This also may be due to the yellowish tint that I have to my headlights due to heat damage (at least I think that's what it is), but he has some of the same damage to his lights as well. We were going to put the ultras into my car, but the auto parts place didn't have them in my car's "size."

Hopefully I'll be able to put some silverstars into my fogs, too. Until then, I think the fogs are mostly off until I can swap them out.
