Hi everybody,
just got 2001 SE and am a bit confused...
1998 SE that I have before seemed to accelerate better.
Is that 2001 still "warming up" (its 200 miles on it)
or what?

Thanks
Alex

Hey hobbot, I used to have an 98 SE auto ( for 3 years ) and now I have a 2001 SE Auto ( nov 2000 ), at first I was intrigue cuz it was kind of difficult to say specially on low end, but after driving the car a few weeks, I became obvious that the 2K1 was pulling harder mostly in the high rpm. I think all in all these are great car but now I prefer my 2K1

Cheers

i used to have 98 SE ,

The 4th gens. are more brisk off the line, cause they are lighter. But, once the rpms go above 4500, it is obvious 5th gens. pull much harder.

If you drive normal, 4th gen. will feel faster,

but if you drive little bit harder and let the rpms go up, 5th gen. is much faster.

Well I drive both and my 97 pulls harder from a standstill than my 01. My girl and I have raced them and the 97 has a car lead initially than at about 100 its about 3/4 car length. The 01 pulls harder if your already moving and floor it just slightly although. Also all of the test I have seen the 4th gen. auto has better 0-60 than any of the 5th gen. auto's. I still love my 01 as well as my 97!

So is there not complicated way to speed up acceleration?
Every one wants to race on the red light..Can't be a loser!

Thanks..
