Question about Slight Hesitation when starting 2K1
Hey,
I Have a 2k1 maxima and it slightly hesitated to start this moring. What i mean by that is My car normally cranks about 3 times and then it starts ALWAYS. This morning It took two more extra cranks before the engine turned over and it started. This happened after I FIRST STARTED THE CAR, DROVE TO WORK, AND PARKED. When i came out later to move my car THIS IS WHEN IT DID IT....and this is the 2nd time. Also after the engine finally turned over i heard a brief BELT squel
IS THIS A BELT PROBLEM, ANYONE????
thanks for any insight or help anyone...thanks

could be plugs, starter, poor battery, coils etc. but as you said you heard a belt sqeaking sound this may be the alternator belt. just check the driving belts if they are worn. if you never had the tune up done then change plugs and test the battery voltage to see if the battery is good.

^^ well my tensioner and tensioner belt did pop off some time back...im going to gauge 4 months ago...i had AN OEM TENSIONER AND BELT put back on. I still do get an occasional squeal on cold start when my car has been off for a VERY LONG PERIOD OF TIME.
But my battery is pretty chewed. Its an old diehard battery, i have an optima but never got around to putting it in.
now when i do a tune up you guys, what does it consist of??
thanks for the input
