you dont need both peices, the peice on the actual shifter is only for shifter position, you can live without it

I bought my Fidanza short shifter off ebay, but before you buy anything make sure to match the part number off the manufacturers web page to the one on EBAY. To install it you will need a lift or a Floor Jack and Stands, cuz its not something you can do from the inside of the car like a Mustang. You will also have to modify the exhaust heat shield so allow a hour or two to install it especially if you have never done one before.

but it doesnt improve the shift motion because of the location of the ****. i have the two piece and tried it out with just the piece under the hood and it made the shifts worse. i kept hitting my hand on the ashtray

I Just installed the Axxtion STS on my 02 SE and its sweet. It was a breeze to install and it works well. The shifts are noticebly shorter and with the two piece that i got (found it on ebay, but took longer to find two piece than just the one) the shift **** is not even close to hitting the dash. in fact it seems to me like its a little further back than stock, which i kinda like, but certainly no conflict with anything as far as space. i think its worth the like 85 bucks or whatever cause it is a good quality product.

Revs2Hard, how do you like your Fidanza??? I've been checking it out for a while, but couldn't find anyone that had tried it.

thats for a 5-speed.
the 6-speed is easier, you can do everything from inside the car and under the hood.

just as a FWI on the watkins sooner said he got for around the same price through a catman group deal...

i talked to brian and he said there is no way that happened as whole sale price for the watkins is over $100.

(note: this is for people using hte search feature so that they don't think they can get a watkins for under a $100 in a group deal.)

why would you buy something with so many pieces when you can get one with only two?

This is not only short throw shifter; this is a short shifter with short throw also. At a lower price of the expensive small peace of aluminium use on the short throws system.

Why don't you just drill a hole, tap it and screw in the linkage closer to the pivot. I did mine for $0.48 and about 30min worth of work. It's at least 45% shorter shift now.
