Grinding noise when coming to a stop in front brakes

After driving for a while, I noticed the brakes in the front make a rough grinding noise. Also it seems like there is some vibrations when applying the brake. Pads were changed about 10k miles ago. Any suggestions as to what to do?

I have a similar grinding noise with mine after switching to Axxis brake pads. Does it only happen at low speeds as in my case?

Did you pick up gravel? A small stone could be sitting on your caliper. I had that happen and it ruined a rotor. Also, the clips could be touchng the rotor. Pull a wheel and check it out, loud grinding noises are never good.

Usually this is a sign you need to replace your front brake pads.

If your steering wheel vibrates while slowing down, its time for new front rotors OR you could get away with just resurfacing them.

The vibration could be a result of warped rotors.

I too have the same problem, grining when the brakes are applied, and sometimes a constant squealing when just driving (from the front brakes).

It seems fairly obvious I need new pads and rotors, but I'm not sure where to go, anyone have suggestions?

I hear ebay has lots of high volume sellers with cross drilled rotor and pad packages for cheap, any comments?

I have purchased from brakepros on ebay and have been very pleased. Purchased drilled rotors front and rear as well as pads. No problems, great prices and super fast shipping.

I bought this set up Aug 2005, just purchased back up front pads this last week. Same great experience.

Pick up some Hawk HPS pads or factory pads and some Brembo blanks and you'll be all set. Don't waste your money on fancy drilled or slotted rotors - they produce more noise, cost more, and offer no appreciable difference in braking performance. Check Tirerack.com.

Good news is that if you need new rotors I picked my 6th gen rotors up from a salvage yard for 25$ a piece and they were garunteed not to be warped.. So at least parts are cheap

My rotors were extremely warped, a lot of vibration in the steering wheel when braking over 50 mph so i bought 2 sets (front and rear) drilled and slotted rotors w/ zinc coating off eBay from a company in cali called VSpecs? Paid 160 shipped. I couldnt be more pleased. Ive had them on for about 8 months now w/ no problems. Now my only problem is my new brake pads. theres an annoying loud noise that i hear when i brake going over 50. i guess i should prolly do something about that

Alright guys, i had the EXACT same problem.......came to a grinding when stopping.......your brakes need to be replaced.....and if its vibrating as well.. guess what, your rotors need to be replaced. I bought the R1 concept rotors and brakes.....they are GREAT.....

I bought them after change my rotors and brake pads only 10k ago... and those brakes i bought at taht time were AXXIS.. they sUCK! they wear out quick! SO......Buy Hawk brake pads they are awesome. and you might as well change your rotors too.

So change your brakes.. thats the grinding......specially if you have the metallic brake pads... no good.. plus they wear down the rotors quicker as well.

Wat Does It Mean If I Press The Brakes Kinda Hard To Come To A Sudden Stop And Alot Of Times It Makes A Squeaky Noise Or Maybe Sometimes A Tiny Grinding Noise, At First It Was Slowing Down Very ****ty Now The Dealer Cut The Brake Lines So He Says And Now I Have This
