Leds that put the sun to shame

Hey guys long time no write. Well i have something amazing to share. Everyone has been doing and talking about the the LED upgrades such as map, dome, door and such lights from autolumination, vleds, and the sort. Well i had autolumination leds in the map and dome light. While the light was a nicer white than stock it was very dim. So i figured i could do better .. for less. I bought white 13000mcd 3.6 forward voltage leds off ebay for 12 dollars. Oh did i mention i recieved 100 LEDS!!!!! Wow. Went to radio shack and picked up PCB and some resistors. I only have the map lights done so far but holy f$% crap. I have 12 leds per side. Soldered and wired and made the PCB to fit in the spot. Once turned on the light output is bright,..no blinding,... no ..it is more blinding than the sun on a nice summer day at 3pm. Also to have an idea of this the lights are so bright i no longer need a dome light, but i will as i want the car to glow. Yes the light output kills autolumination or any other dealer. Also i am able to do the 2 map lights, the front doors and the dome light for , oh about 20 dollars total. That is about 5 buck a spot versus 20 a spot. If i bought the lights from Autolum i would have had to fork over 75 bucks and the light would be a little flashlight in a cave type of bright. I havent got picks yet but i will post the pics tomorrow night. The dome is next tomorrow night so hopefully i will have the map and dome pics. Check ya in the AM

Was the ebay seller Best Hong Kong? I hope not. Their LEDs have a VERY short life span.
Awaiting pics though.

Nice man, post pics soon. I posted earlier of my LED map lights that my friend made. I will get the specs from him, but he made me footwell lights too. Soon to be added, trunk and license plate lights. My dome has a short in it, so we have to fix that first.

Since i couldnt get the pics up last night i will try when ui get home tonight. I have the dome light finished now so i can show the dome and map lights. LKiller bright white light. I did take some pics but for some reson they look like shat. Its a dig cam but the pics dont do it half the justice they deserve.

Ok, so if the pics are on my desktop (dont have a homepage) how then do i post them?

Also i agree

Never used it. I use http://imageshack.us/ and http://photobucket.com/ . Photobucket will give you the [IMG] URL right there so it's real simple. You can also use your CarDomain if you have one. To do this the image has to be on a page already, then click on the image so it is in its own browser and right click on the image, properties, then copy the URL to the image and paste that URL in the [IMG] line that was posted above. Worse comes to worse I'll host the pics for you. Email them if you cannot figure this out to MTobia@gmail.com and I'll get them up this afternoon.

I was sent a freebie sample for the Maxi a few months ago. Just put them in the other week. Bright as hell, tho I wish they were not so "blue". They are from LED Domelights.

Ok guys, got the pics and there are o good amount. I have the pics of lights on and pics of what the board un-lit looks like. The pics are loading now so in about 1-1.5 hrs ill have the link again. Also just to let ya know the pics are good but the lights burn the camera and black out the background. So justice is not being done. But the shine off the lights tell how it is BRIGHT. i had the dim leds in previously and me and my wife just went out tonight and i turned them on and she said they are wicked bright. Enough to read a book. So check back in a few. Oh also the camera lies a bit with the blue tint. its a very pure white that kinda looks faintly blue. Oh also there are pics of the leds in the doors too. These light the ground up something fierce. If anyone has questions on how to do this as it is way cheap im more than happy to help.

i used a 47 ohm resistor. 3 leds and a 47 ohm resistor. the maps have 12 leds in total so i used 4 resistors. It not hard at all just time consuming. Im looking into a paypal acct for those that dont want to do this them selves. I love this stuff so i may make some for you guys. Dont request yet as i dont want money being sent and no places to send, so let me set it up and ill take orders. Also i only know how to do it for a 2003 maxima. if the 2000- 2003 are the same i can do it but i dont know what the 99 and befores or 04 and laters have.

1 resistor per board or 4 per board?

its one resistor per 3 leds. So think of it this way. An led has 2 legs or wires coming off of it. The short leg is the negative.
So to make it easy i want to light up 3 leds i need one 47 ohm resistor.

if you have 12 leds you need 1 resistor for every 3 leds = 4 resistors.

i will put a pic up on my shutterfly link tonight on how it should be wired. Around 9 or so. check back,.

I was curious on what was difference between you setup and metalmaxima's way? He used 1 37 ohm resistor for the whole board on the positive side.

You can use different ohm resistors depending on the current that should flow thru the led, the Milliamps to run thru the led and how many leds in series you have, This all plays apart in the resistor used. But to use 1 resistor for x amount of leds, im not sure how many leds where used. I would have to know how the board is set up to see if it is correct. Prob is i just would need to see how he set it up.
Also the LEDs came from this link:
