How do you replace burned out gauge bulb??

Searched and didn't find specific answer.
I'm working on changing out a burnt bulbs and I can't figure out how to remove the bulb from the black socket thing. Does the bulb twist out? I'm confused. Please respond asap as I'm leaving for a road trip tomorrow morning. Thanks.

yup, just twist (should be counter-clockwise) and pull. It has two pretty big plastic tabs that have holes cut out for them, and you just have to twist it to align the tabs with the holes so you can pull it straight out.

I have that out. How do you pull the bulb out of the socket? Or install a #24 LED?

oh my bad. Just take a towel and pull it straight out. It's held in there pretty good.

Got ONE. Wiggling is the key. The socket is pretty beat up but salvagable. Now time to see how the LED lights up.

They probably have new sockets at radio shack. Glad to hear you got one of them out. BTW, the LEDs aren't very bright and if you got the white ones they'll make your gauges light up blue.

I hacked up the one so much the copper sides broke off and then of course of the bulb didn't work. I got the "white" LEDs and am looking to get the light blue color. Tomorrow if I get a chance in the morning I'll run to radio shack and see if they have any. I don't know if I'll have time though. I'm going on a road trip to NAIAS (Detriot Auto Show)

Even if your break the bulb just grab it with a pliers and pull it out.
