One major sign of warped rotors is a vibration felt in the steering wheel when you apply the brakes at highway speeds. It is quite noriceable and may even be present at lower speeds. I doubt your rotors would be warped with only 1k miles.....

yep sounds like they're warped. There's a TSB to get it fixed. Check in the sticky area.

if we take it into the dealer to get the brakes fixed under the TSB should we print the TSB out and show it to them, or just mention the brake rotor warp TSB?

try and just mentiont it first to see if they will take care of it without any hassles. If they give you trouble, then show it to them. My dealer just did it without the TSB.

or....
its pretty dangerous to do without a lift, but with the car in neutral, sometimes you can simply spin the tire and hear it grind alittle more when it passes the warped part of the rotor. By grind, I mean that the pads usually close enough to the rotor that you will feel or hear it rub unevenly.

I would say tho, that once you are this far out of spec, that its easily reproduced on the road.

For me, I have a freakin Toyo slightly out of round. so my vibe is from that.

just get after market(Brembo/PowerStop) rotors...they cost about the same as the replacement OEC rotors but they don't warp as much as the stockers...the stockers are sooo prone to warping..one quick spay of water at car wash...and bam! you have warped rotors...

My 2nd set of rotors are going already. Why didn't Nissan use larger rotors on the 5th gen? They are thicker, but not bigger.

are you going to take it back to the dealer? You think Gaithersburg Nissan will take care of you this time around? They are under new management, so I don't know

Supposedly that brake TSB is good for 36,000 miles. I may wait a while and wait until it's more obvious. It's definitely happening, but I don't want any doubt in the situation. I have 20,000 miles right now. If they don't take care of me, I'll raise hell. (Yeah right, I'm such a wimp.)

I heard this from a brake specialist! I thaught what a bunch of B.S!! But here it is! he said " Your brakes are warped because your car is set on a 60/40 brake offset. 60% in the front and 40% in the back." He also said "try this when your car is parked put your emergency brake on! This will use up your rear brakes{only atx}." I was like wtf? are we using our brakes too hard?

Hey guys, my steering vibrates so much that it freaked me out the other day. even when going from 30-0. What is the cause of wrap? I mean, I never slam on my brakes, but I just use them reguarly. My dad would kill me if he knows I wrecked his car. What can I do?

I am currently short of cash.

Bring it to your dealer ASAP. This vibration is not good for your front bearings. Don't take any BS regarding your "hard brake use" - there is TSB and they HAVE TO fix it under warranty. In my case though, it was cheaper to DIY than to fight with dealers .

When I took my car to service, they said it was 18" rims and because I lowered my car about an inch with my eibach springs. He said to put back everything back stock and if I the problem occurs again, he would honor my warranty. That is funked up.

Thats BS....lowering should not affect brakes. New wheels should not either if they are torqued to the right spec.

Yeah...thats what I think to. Lowering should not have any effect, plus I have my wheels torqued to the specs. I should take my TSB bulletin and tell him to beat it.
