Bose HU fuse?

Bose HU fuse?
I have an '00 GLE.
All the sudden a couple weeks ago I started the car, and there was no radio. The buttons light up, but the LCD does not. None of the buttons do anything. Oddly enough, I decided to try throwing in a CD, and it does work. However, none of the buttons work when the CD is playing either - not even power. The only thing I can adjust is the volume.
The fuse under the hood (next to the battery) is fine. I even changed it in case there was a problem with the fuse that wasn't visible. I know from reading this forum that there is also a fuse on the head unit, which I have not checked yet.
My question is, does anyone know exactly what that fuse (on the back of the HU) "controls"? If my problems were caused by that fuse, would you expect the CD player to work? I haven't had a chance to try pulling out the radio to check that fuse, but I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble depending what that fuse controls. If there's no chance that's the problem, then I don't want to waste my time.
I've seen a few HU's on eBay for decent prices. I would change to something different, but I plan on trading in the next few months, so would prefer to keep the fix as cheap as possible.
Thanks for any info!
