2000 5 Speed Tranny Question

I have a 2001 and Im in the process of doing my 5 speed conversion. Im using a 2000 tranny. I noticed there is a small nipple, looks to be a vacuum nipple on the top of the 5 speed tranny. What is this and what goes there?? Will my Auto have something to put there or what will I need to do??

Thanks,

Matt

The brass nipple on the top of the manual trans is simply a breather vent tube. Other than to insure it is not clogged or restricted, it needs no attention.

Yup a breather, it goes up next to the airbox stock.

Now I have another question or two....the donor car I got the brake and clutch pedal out of had welded spacers on the firewall underneath both pedals. My Auto brake pedal did not and the brackets for both manual and auto pedals are identical. I have already installed the brake exactly like the old one came out, with no spacer. So now my question is about the clutch pedal....what do I need to do about it?? Spacer or no?? in HLH's write up he says you NEED to have it there but his is also a 4th gen car...can anyone shed some light on this??

Thanks .ORG!!

I would use washers to give the "spacer" effect.

got the spacers covered. now Im done with all pedal installs except for the clutch switch (P-N safety switch on the auto) wiring. Which harness is it on the 2001 Auto?? In HLH's write up he describes it as a 2 wire switch on the front of the tranny, BUT the car he is working on is like a 96ish....so which one is it on my 01?? Also the clutch has 2 switches on it, one for the cruise and one for the N safety (the one i asked about above) for start up....what do I wire the cruise cut off switch to?? just run it into the cruise cut off switch on the brake??

Thanks in advance!
