Squeaking noise...help.

Ok. So i used to have 2 annoying noises coming from the front of my max. One being a "clunk" which has been helped by changing bump stops(hood made noise over every bump). Still hasnt gone away but way better than before. My other problem which is still present is a loud "squeak". I hear this when going over bumps AND when i shut ANY door in my car while parked. When i shut the car door, the car sways left and right slightly. I took the car to the dealer and they gave me the excuse that the car had been in an accident. That is correct BUT it was making the noise before the incident. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and had it fixed? Any ideas as to what this may be? Im still under warranty so im not sure if they just b.s. me to not have to work. Thank you.

Check the sway bar end links regarding the clunk. Lube the hood stops with a little lithium grease and see if the squeak goes away.

Hope that helps and good luck!

Look under the front of the car, by the tires, and you should something similar to this:

The part with two red ends is the link. The part it is attached to is the sway bar. This is not a Maxima but similar. I think there is a pic somewhere on the org out of the Factory Service Manual showing it, though, but I'm not sure.

Here is a pic of what one looks like:

Thank you. What part of the hoodstops should i lubricate? The rubber on the top? lol sorry for the stupid questions. And what should i be looking for with the endlinks? Signs of wear im guessing...

Just put some lithium grease on the rubber tops. The squeak should be gone from just putting a little on there.

As for the links, you probably won't be able to tell if they are worn just from looking, then again, maybe so. Also, you didn't specify, but where does the clunk sound like it is coming from? Generally, the endlinks go bad on the passenger side and sound like a strut bottoming out or something similar over every bump.

clunk and squeak are both from the front. i dont believe they are from anything but the hood. i adjusted the bump stops a bit and it helped the squeaking yet it seems it comes back every so often. i am going to buy the grease and lube up my rubber lol thanks for all your help.
