I bought them from umnitza so i guess they are prolumen? Which i heard are the same type of bulbs used in the helios kit just under a different name. i could be mistaken. Either way...i wouldnt upgrade without buying HID fogs.

btw anyone wondering about color...it all depends on the housing its in but just so u have an idea...
6k compared to stock looks white with slight blue. Picture is in thread.
6k compared to 8k looks white with purple. Did this next to a friends 06 civic. Its strange how our eyes play games...

Best thing to do is always RUN your HIDS (day or night) so they can colorshift... it's a free mod!
I think colorshift at it's peak roughly 4700k (before it dies), but I would say my headlights look similar to those more blue aftermarkets. I'm not rice.

Might have to step up to the Ultinons.
Honestly there is no glare from the 02-03 headlights that ive noticed. They have HID reflectors and even tho the d2c doesnt have the shield of the d2r it looks the same. I will say my fogs give off a slight glare tho and seeing as how you have 00 headlights...your ish will glare.

Just because people do things, it doesn't mean that it's legal. Since you obviously have no idea what you're talking about, I'll fill you in with someone else's words. Read carefully, maybe you'll learn something and will not post any more misinformation on here.
In the USA, headlights are only legal for use on public roads if they are DOT approved. (Similar laws apply in all other "developed" countries and many other countries.) This requires that samples of the headlights be sent to the proper testing laboratory and certification must be obtained that the design is approved. Approval is only with specific bulbs tested in the lab in the samples and DOT approval is invalid if a different bulb is used.
It is illegal to use on public roads homebrew headlights or headlights using a bulb other than what they were DOT-approved to use. For example, a headlight that is DOT approved and normally uses a 9005 halogen bulb is not DOT approved for anything else - especially not a D2S for example.
As for what can happen if you use illegal headlights?
1. Often enough, nothing. This depends on location. In some USA cities, law enforcement of traffic regualtions in general is lax. Police are generally not equipped to do headlight photometry anyway.
2. Some unlawful HID retrofit headlights are obvious to a few cops. It is more obvious if you have the really bluish or aqua-ish or obviously dichroic fake HID bluish headlights that are known to some cops to be a safe bet to not meet the complex photometric and colorimetric standards.
If the cop believes you have unlawful headlights, you can be stopped and ticketed. Depending on your state, the violation may be having an invalid inspection sticker or whatever violation of headlight law. Depending on your state and the mood of the cop, you may in extreme cases be barred from driving the car at night (or at all) until it has legal headlights and it has passed inspection again with the legal headlights.

hids are only legal if your car came with them from the factory, but its a small thing, as long as you dont use 12000k the cop wont bother, but just to clear it up if your car didnt have hids from the dealer then its not legal no matter what intensity

to me i believe the 5.5 gen. headlights look the best. If you do some research you can learn that you can paint the back w/e color you want, install angel eyes, change the turning signal face, possibilities are endless. in the end they will look way better... you dont want your car looking like a ricer
8000K 6000K ... which ever .....it all depends on your personal taste and likings. there isnt like a superior Degree, like use this or your gunna die. just like maximus said, you see less.... its not like your gunna be driving and end up like
I cant see anything omg. it's a light.... ur gunna see sumthin, just not as much.
