I need some help installing a vafc-II on a 2000 maxima 3.0l

 

check the v-afc2 in a 99es thread, it may help you throughout the whole process.

 

What kind of info?

All you need is a wiring diagram for your car, and the VAFC diagram.

It should be a walk in the park after that. The diagrams have already been shown to you.

......Why would you want a VAFC II for a Maxima?? I thought the VAFC was for Hondas with VTEC (hence the name VAFC) used as a VTEC controller...Isnt the SAFC II what you would want in a Maxima??? I could be wrong, maybe someone has discovered a new use for these in our cars??

 

Not to be smart, but I think its because you have failed to give us clear question. Honestly, your first post in this thread is not informative at all:

The VAFC-II can be used on Maximas. It can be set up to have more tuning points than the SAFC-II, which is one of the main reasons it is preferred to the SAFC-II.

This doesn't need to be in All-Motor, it's going to 5th gen forum.

 

Is this any good on a relatively stock car? Or wait till mods....i/h/e/udp/..etc.

Depends on your AF... it can help both stock or modded cars....

 

i am not trying to be messy but i have to say this absoundlab i know what you mean and sympathize. i posted two seperate threads on needing help hooking up an 02 simulator. people did not realize my car is a little different than the other maximas so those instructions were not all the way correct for me. I posted picturesand i even tried to pm and for the most part criticism is what i recieved. i know people here have the information that is needed for peoples problem but for there own selfish reasons attempt to make it difficult. everybody should realize that they were a newbie at some point and i do not consider myself a newbie.

 

First of all, absoundlab made about 4 other threads asking the same damn question with out specifying what he wanted. How the hell are we going to help somebody who keeps reposting the same thing 4 or 5 other times? Also I bet you didn't do your own research and that is why you created 2 seperate thread in which case they critized you.

I was a newbie at one point and I did all the search myself until I really needed help in which case I took it all to PMs asking a certain few people who I knew would know the answers. I didn't make repeated threads with stupid questions that are
repeated.

ok I have a 2000 nissan maxima 5spd 3.0l and I have an apexi vafc2 I'm looking for a 2000 wiring diagram.8 looked on apexi website and I don't understand it. also all the wiring diagrams I found here on the forum they aren't for my car they are for the 5.5 gen maximas . its not that I don't want to do research, I've done so much already and havebt found anythibg good. so I'm asking fellow orgers for help I know people know how to do this bcuz I've seen it on other 5 th gens thank you

all the infor is for a 5.5gen

 

The wires to tap for a 5.5 will be the same for a 5th Gen, just the pins have a different number on the ECM.

1. Take 5.5 Gen VAFC-II install diagram
2. Find corresponding ECM pinout for 2000 using FSM, also given to you by NMexmax in one of his links: http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...2&postcount=12
3. Use two guides above to install VAFC-II
4. ???
