New York has an ice storm the other day. wish it coulda been snow instead. but even in the conditions my Maxima... 2003 SE.. handled like it should and didnt ***** about nothing. Have to agrEE with Irish... The tirEs are key in bad weather such as snow or possessed Rain storms. along with careful driving...

I'm not sure which diff is in my '01 Max but I had no trouble this week in deep snow. Although my alloys did load up with snow and I had to stop to clean them out to drive over 50 mph. My tires are new, all season "nothing special" type in a stock 16" size. The ABS worked great and the car ran silky smooth. Now that the interstate is back down to the pavement every body is driving at normal crazy speeds(me too). If I can just keep enough washer fluid in it I'll be OK.

Man, people think I'm crazy for saying that I miss the snow. After seeing that sh*t, I think I just miss the skiing through the neighborhood and golf course sledding.

You'll have to agree with me that if you have 2 cars with the very same tires the one with the LSD/HLSD with have better traction......better 2 wheels with traction than only one wheel...

Saucisse,

beautifully selected pictures of Quebec and your max with hlsd, it's the major reason why i selected mine. I had no idea it could handle that kind of snow. I usually just run my through lake tahoe,nevada/california ski areas and i'm like, hell yeah [through 1" of melted snow]. I have noticed how mine continues along the planned route while other FWD sedans were sliding off and getting terked around.
but its good to have picture proof that the maxi's w/hlsd can handle snow that serious in case i ever wander up to Whistler moutain in vancouver, bc, for boarding heaven.

soonerfan, this is your life...

soonerfan: "blah, blah, blah, yeah the hlsd were standard on 1972 through 2003 maxi's SLEs."

(uhh...WRONG!)

soonerfan:"yeah, yeah, some kind of mechanical device named something, i was right about that!"

(a little later, out of no where, with much, much thought and pushing his own intellectually capacity beyond his own concievable threshold)

soonerfan says
"stupid french canadians"

wow, hardee, har har, har har.....har

har

har

oh my god,

I knew it, soonerfan really is a 19 year old from Utah called 'mass media'... it all makes sense now... 19 years in Utah can do that to anybody

or mass media just a yes-man?

by the way, mass media, you should check your grammar since I didn't post what you said I posted. but if i did, here's what i would of done:

'I'm going to try and talk **** to the most biggest know-it-all in 5th gen section if not the org'

should be changed to:

"You made the biggest know-it-all in the 5th gen if not the whole world look at his OWN thoughts and actions"

i dont have to prove my knowledge to you (or anyone), but the people that matter realize that i know what im talking about. you havent been here long enough to know anything about me...or anyone else.
if you think you know more, prove it.

soonerfan,

this is how ridiculous you are. this post was originally from Saucissa about his HLSD in deep snow, the added traction and whatnot. how the heck did it become about what you know? (its called intellectual insecurity)

Now look at you, crying about how you don't have to prove anything to me, that people from the org know you here, and that what counts. go get some kleenex, preferrably the ones with lotion cause it sounds like you'll be using a lot of them.

I don't know a single person here on the org, does that make my statements less credible? I don't think so.

by the way, your comment about hurting myself....please

you need to stop talking **** if you want to continue posting here.

I agree, we did got a real bad snow storm in New Mexico, that it was much as you have in that pic posted. Tires are the factor in getting up or out of the snow but Maxima does have very good traction cuz of the weight of the front. That's why I love it
