My custom LED lights

A friend of mine is pretty damn good with making LED lights/boards, so he hooked me up a bit. He is registered on the org. (Dark-V) as you might notice in my sig. Anyways, lets get to what he has done to my car:

- 8-LED License Plate Lights
- 24-LED White Dome Light
- 24-LED White Front Underdash Lights
- 12-LED White Map Lights

On to the night pictures, which I apologize in advance for, my camera sucks:

Pic of under dash lights w/ very dirty floormats, pedals and sneakers.

Closeup of board attached with Velcro underneath dash. Not visible from seating position.

Map lights w/ glare provided by camera.

Another picture of Map Lights w/ part of my face in mirror.

Dome light.

Side view of license plate lights. I tried to capture this, but the lights leave a nice bright white line on the ground right behind my bumper.

Close up of license plate.

They are actually wired up to a switch. I kind of wanted to do the door thing, but wanted to be able to control it, so this will be fine for now.

sooner, the pedals are on the list for the spring.

The lights in the doors are next, as well as maybe LED clear corners. It's really all up to my friend and how many sandwiches I can buy him.

chopstix, thanks about the pumas. As far as the LEDs themselves, I'll get the specifics from my friend.

Those license plate LEDs really look great. Any chance your friend would be willing to sell them?

Sweet looking lights Z! I have next week off so you better at LEAST bring over your door lights to me so I can change them!

Yup, I is Dark-V. I'm not done with Z's Maxima yet, I still have the trunk lights, door lights, outside lights, etc etc. to make. I can honestly say with the license plate lights, that they are a MUCH better match for his 6000k HIDs.

For LEDs, I used white piranha type superfluxes. They are square LEDs with a 100-120* beam angle so they cover a LOT of area.

As for making the lights for people, I like to keep it local. I know a bunch of org members are in the area, so just talk with Z or myself to see what we can do.

Where can I get some of these LEDS (white piranha type superfluxes)?? I'm looking at 5mm (55000 MCD) LEDs on Ebay. Does anyone know if these are any good? Is 55000 MCD too much??

Why would you? You have something to hide? If you don't have anything to hide I don't see why not. Unless your doing something really stupid like street racing then I guess I could see why.

do you have a reason to make it less noticeable?

the light output of the LEDs improves the appearance. if you dont have a reason to hide, there is no reason not to do it.

Your an idiot off the bat. Yes make your license plate light dimmer so cops can't see it. Gives them an even better reason to pull you over instead of making it brighter so they can see it and leave you alone cause you don't have a license plate light that is out. Idiots like you make the world stop turning.

Okay okay, the LED plate lights were NOT to really make them brighter, just better looking, a crisper, whiter light.

Your right about the smoked corners, they'd look very nice. Maybe try LED side lights smoked too. Hmmm....

I'm looking at a 5.5 gen Maxima to trade my Spec V for... This gives me some ideas.

Sorry irish, I do love my clears on my max. They provide a bit of contrast. However, I will be buying the bluebatmobile smoked overlays for the corners. So hopefully they will be like the CE smoked corners that they never made the rears for.

he was being nice...white or blue is equally illegal.
and please dont argue with me...its not legal. federal law mandates that the rears must light and reflect red and the fronts must light and reflect amber.

From what I understood here it's the signal light themselves need to be amber in the front and red in the back (along with the red stop lights).
But for running lights, they can be white. Around here I've heard nothing about white running lights being illegal. White blinkers themselves are illegal because people might not be able to discern them between the headlights.

Blue and Red are illegal in the front due to the police cars.

*edit*

I do stand corrected, the sidemarkers do need to be amber or red.

I never said make your license plate light dimmer. So dont put words in my mouth. I said leave it the way it is. There is no reason to make it brighter so it makes it easier for them to see it.

Why do you feel the need to disrespect the police? Their job is to enforce the law; if you break it, they have every right to get you.
