Gauge cluster bulb replacement....

sorry if this may be a repost, but I did search and couldnt find anything, not even in the how-to;s section. Anyway, I need to replace a couple(?) of bulbs in my dash and wasnt sure if anyone had a write up on how to do so. Also, anyone know what type of bulb it takes? Id prefer to go led since they are brighter and last longer, so if I could find out ahead of time what bulb type it takes, then I could order them online.

I think its a #74...not sure

thanks in advance

Post #31 in the how-to sections is for replacing chrome guage bezzles, but it does also explain how to remove the cluster. If you don't really get it, send me a pm and I'll let ya know.

As for the bulbs and LEDs... here is the official thread for that one. I am running blue LEDs in my guages right now, #24. As far as "brighter" goes, not so sure. Read the thread, any more questions, pm me.

I am running #24 LED's as well... not overly impressed with the Light output, and the uniformity of the display. IMO get colored #24 incandescent bulbs if you want to switch it up

Yeah, I visited that thread and saw the results. I wasnt too impressed by them. I definately want something with uniform brightness, I just dont want to have to go through this for a while; thats why I was opting for the LED. Other than Autolumination, does anybody else make LEDs that are better and give a more uniform brightness?

thanks for the help
