Installing Fog Light on GXE Nissan Maxima

I have a GXE Nissan Maxima without fog lights. I would like to install some but that means I would have to do some wiring. The installation section does not say how to wire the fog lights in. How would you go about wiring fog lights in? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

im pretty sure all you have to do is install the relay for the fog lamps if its not there and change out your turn signal switch. if you buy the foglamps from courtesy nissan, i think they come witht he harness, turn signal switch, relay, and lamps. its honeslty pretty simple.

hers where you can find them: http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...de=B61E0-00001

RELAYS! thats it, when i installed the fogs all i needed was to put in a new (?) relay and re-wire due to rotting through all of the wires. pita imo, hopefully you'll have wires that aren't completely destroyed...best of luck !

the switch box will be labeled - should be top right corner (of the relay box on left side of the car) - CANT miss it(its on the instructions as well I think) . as for the ebay question - thats up to you. one last thing - get the FSM for your car. that and this site have been a life saver for me.

I actually had to install some fog lights myself. Mine is also a GXE maxima. I didnt have the relay, or the turn signal switch. I found that out AFTER buyign the a universal fog light kit ($40) from pep boys which included the relay, fuse, and their switch. Wiring is pretty simple, the hardest part was mounting the damn thing since its not direct fit. Then I had to drill a hole from under the car to run the wire to the switch that came with it...And then the resistor from the light was dead, which i found out the hard way and kinda fried the lights in the process. SO Ordering a new direct fit at the moment. It was a good and fun learning experience nonetheless. Good luck

as an fyi, it's easier to install the lights from above than from below. if you remove your headlights, you're exposed to the underside of the bumper, which is where the fogs get mounted. IMO, it's easier than lieing on your back and removing the shield, etc... takes 2 screws for the headlight to pop out.

Someone sold one of those new factory oem foglights same as those in the link on ebay and it only went for $60. I missed it by matter of minutes, else i would of got them. Still looking for factory fogs but not the price that courtesy is selling them for.

If you have just the foglamps by themselves is there a way to do it without the relay? and w/o the extra light switch that you have to purchase for a gxe.

i was meaning that the reflective surface being smoked will affect the light output no matter what bulbs you use.

You're going to need a relay either way. Might as well make it the OEM one that plugs right in. Same thing with the stalk - why give yourself the trouble when Nissan did all the work for you? MUCH cleaner and easier install. Just buy the parts.
