CV Boot/Axle issue

I have been having problems with my front axle for over a year now. Occasionally there is a clicking sound coming from that area. My CV boots are both torn and i see that the grease flew out from there all over the rim and suspension. What do you think the best solution is to do? Should i replace both left and right front axles or just the boots and does anyone know how much it would cost????

Thanks in advance

Replace both driveaxles. I just went through this with my other car. If the outer boot(s) have been split for any length of time, the associated CV joint will be on it's way to being toast. The added cost in labor to replace a CV joint or even a boot by a service center or garage just doesn't make it pay. And a lot of garages won't even do it........they'll want to replace the driveaxle assemblies. Be aware that not all rebuilt driveaxles are created equal. Some come with new outer CV joints, some have all "rebuilt" CV joints. You should ask, because there is a price difference and it may depend on how long you plan to keep the car. If you plan to drive the car a long time maybe new OEM is the way to go. DEFINITELY phone a dealer and get a price from them, so you know if the rebuilt replacement prices elsewhere make sense.

If there is clicking noises from both or either of the front axels when turning, especially at low speed, they are worn out and need to be replaced. I would suggest raxels which would be somewhere around 100 to 150 per axel, maybe a little lower.
Hope that helps

are you serious? If the boots have been torn for over a year now....there is all kinds of debris and dirt inside the joints..they are shot and cannot be "fixed." Time to replace both axles.
