Race with ricer Mustangs...
Just your average ricer mustangs...
1st kill: New Mustang V6. Ricer blue headlamps, slammed, bouncy (at least lower it RIGHT!), funny looking driver...from 65mph, he taps his brake lamps a few times, then floors it. I drop to 3rd, run it's full length, pull into the middle lane from the left. come up along side him, shift into fourth, start pulling even more, he has to slow to evade traffic...but, he had no chance... he had nothing left.
2nd kill: previous gen mustang. no exhaust pipes or emblems. Front fascia/hood was off of a cobra (cobra nostrils and round foglamps)...but, when I took off and he was following, he didn't gain... and he was trying cause i heard his exhaust just wailing (too loud imho). DEFINITELY NOT a cobra. As a Cobra would have little problem pulling on me on the freeway. My guess was it was a 4.6L GT.. rather than the 5.0 GT. .shrugs.
Fun none-the-less....it's great beating people's "muscle/sports" cars in a family sedan. I should have a baby-seat in it...

I know exactly the kind of person you had the run in with. I see those domestic ricers types all the time. I don't think that they will ever learn.

two mustangs and no-go
wow!!! i was just about to write a post on my encounter with two mustangs today, but i guess you beat me to it.
my first encounter was in the interstate. i was cruising at 80mph, and i saw a red mustang creeping up. i waited till he made a move to the right, i double clutched and took off but he didnt follow me. *sigh* so i slowed down next to him and realized it was a v6.... so i guess he was scared.
the second encounter took place less than 10 mins after the first encounter. i got off my exit, i was just cruising and up ahead i saw a new black mustang convertible GT with aftermarket rims flying. so i weaved through traffic and caught up to him when he got caught in traffic. i passed on the left when traffic cleared but he didnt do anything. i was shocked he backed down, cuz he had a track number on his windshield and he was flying before.
oh well, im glad at least you SCCA Solo2, had your fun. Peace out!!

How to get a good start?
We, drivers of "family car" shouldn't be able to keep up with Stangs!?!? :-) Really Stangs is about speed. They don't look great, except for the SVT or some Cobras. And I surely don't understand why one would buy a non Turbo Talon/Eclipse or a non GT Mustang. No trunk and back seat room.
I don't usually race other Nissan out of respect. When I had my Supra I didn't race other Toyotas. Most of the time when I race I start slow, then catch up. I guess I don't know how to launch. I don't rev it up, or pop the clutch.
I drive quite normally when I race, therefore sometimes a mini van get a jump on me. Am I supposed to rev up to 2000k, and then let the clutch go?
