Ceramic Coating... worth the money?

I just got a set of headers... Yes Hotshot...

I was thinking about getting them Ceramic Coated for the Heat Transfer and corosion.
It is going to cost me $165.00 to have the headers themselves done
PLUS
An extra $100 to have the y-pipe coated.

The coating is Satin Black, 2000 Degree temp rating with a 3-4 day turn around.

Obviously under the hood HEAT IS BAD
But
I live in FL so it is hotter than Hell down here in the summer no matter what you do!
So is it really going to matter if the headers are coated and the surface temp is a few degrees less??

Or for the sake of keeping a nice finnish for $30 and a couple hours of my time i can paint them with Hi-Temp engine paint and never look back...

What 'Cha Think?....

This is true. Is it necessary to ceramic coat the y pipe also, or just the headers? Thanks.

over in the "grand prix" world they use header wrap and the silicone spray, its cheaper, can be done at home, and some claim better at keeping the heat in the exhaust for better performance...a side effect would be less under hood heat.

that cheapo high-temp paint won't last but a few days on a set of headers. never has, never will. it'll look worse than not coating it with anything.

I painted my Y pipe with some 2000* silver paint... almost all of it flaked off within a year.

Well that is what i though too.
Somehow when he was having his "Final Inventory Clerance" he had some "unfinnished" headers. By the time i got my check to him apparently these are the only ones left... Just my luck. He told me in his email they would be coated Black... but i giess he ran our of those too.
So do i take what i can get and worry about the problems later?... or say no thanks and wait for a month to get my money back... hopefuly

I picked option 1.

All things considered $300 for headers and $300 for Ceramic Coating not a bad deal... I guess
